ChronoTrack Timing System:

What is the ChronoTrack Timing System and how does it work?

The Shamrock Shuffle 3K continues to offer the latest in race timing technology, the ChronoTrack Timing System.

Over the last year, runners and race directors alike have come to rely on the disposable ChronoTrack B-Tag, a disposable UHF RFID tag, to time their races with convenience and ease.

Because the B-Tag is mounted on the back of the runner's bib, it is virtually invisible to the participant and requires no special pre or post race handling. The disposable B-Tag insures high accuracy, fast results and simplicity of use for races of all sizes.

This new timing innovation is expected to set the benchmark for the timing industry and will be used at major running events around the country this spring. ChronoTrack Systems is proud to lead the industry as the only major race timing system developed and manufactured in the USA.

The ChronoTrack Timing System will be distributed with your race number at the Registration/Packet Pickup on March 8th and 14th and on Race Day, March 15th. Race Timing and Runners Services are performed by Super Race Systems (superracesystems.com).

Click here for further information and for instructions on how to use the ChronoTrack Timing System.

Spectators:

Can spectators watch the start and/or finish of the race?

Yes. However, spectators need to remain on the sidewalks at all times and out of the race course.  This helps to ensure the safety of race participants.  The start of the race can be viewed from the sidewalks on the corner of Vine Street and Mill Street and the finish can be viewed from the sidewalks on the corner of Upper Street and Main Street in front of the old Courthouse. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Restrooms:

Will there be restroom facilities available?

Yes. Public restrooms are located inside the Lexington Center (they are near the elevators on Level 1). You are also welcome to use the facilities back inside the Lexington Center after the race.

Teams:

How do I sign up a team?

A special Team award will be presented to the Top 3 Male Teams, Top 3 Female Teams and Top 3 Co-Ed Teams. Teams consist of 3-5 people and the fastest three times on each team will contribute to the team score. To register your team of family, friends, co-workers, etc., just choose a team name and when each person on that team registers, please enter the same team name into the "Team Name" field. You may still register individually even if you are on a team. You will still be eligible for individual awards even if you choose to be part of a team.

Costumes:

Can I wear a costume?

We encourage our participants to dress up for the race in Irish and shamrock themed costumes.  We've seen some great ones over the years! There will be a contest for the best costume following the race at the Finish Line Party under the shelter of the 5/3 Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park.

Strollers:

Are strollers allowed in the race?

Yes, strollers are allowed, but we do ask that you start the race in the Stroller/Walker/Shuffler section at the back of the start. You will be chip timed, so it will not affect your race results.
